OUR STORY
Built for women who chose a different kind of life.
Sundae CPA was born from a simple conviction: women who live unconventionally - who worldschool their children, split their time across countries, or build businesses from scratch - deserve financial and tax guidance that actually fits their lives.
Most CPA firms weren't built with you in mind. This one was.

What I believe finances should do:
Your finances should create freedom. Not trap you in spreadsheets. Not define your worth. Not become the quiet source of stress you avoid looking at.
Money should provide clarity, confidence, and flexibility so you can build a life that's aligned with what matters most.
The values behind my work:
Seen- The numbers. Honest, organized, and understood.
Unseen- The beliefs, habits, and values shaping every financial decision.
Freedom- When the seen and unseen are aligned, money becomes a tool that supports your life instead of directing it.
If you're looking for a financial life that's honest, intentional, and truly your own, I'd love to help you build it.
MY BACKGROUND
A little about me
Hi, I'm Amanda.
For nearly two decades, I worked as a CPA and New York State tax auditor.
My career gave me a deep understanding of the tax code-not just how it's written, but how it's interpreted, enforced, and viewed from the auditor's side of the table. I learned how the system works from the inside.
At the same time, I found myself caught in a cycle that many high-achieving professionals know well: striving, overthinking, and believing the next accomplishment would finally create the freedom I was looking for.
Then the pandemic changed everything.
My husband and I made the decision to grow our family, welcoming two more children. I left my position as a New York State tax auditor, and together we began rebuilding our lives from the ground up.
We questioned nearly everything.
How we wanted to educate our children. How we wanted to spend our time. What success actually meant. What "enough" looked like.
That journey led us to homeschooling, worldschooling, and ultimately creating a permanent home within an intentional community in Costa Rica.
Along the way, I realized something that changed the way I think about money: Freedom isn't waiting on the other side of more money. It's built through the relationship you have with the money you already have.
Because numbers follow thinking.
Today, I bring together two perspectives.
The first is technical precision: CPA, former New York State tax auditor, and Series 65 Investment Adviser Representative.
The second is lived experience. I haven't simply studied intentional living-I rebuilt my own life around it. I'm not working with homeschooling, worldschooling, and internationally minded families from the outside. I'm living many of the same questions they are.
How I show up for you
Tax code is complicated. Your relationship with your CPA shouldn't be. I translate the technical into plain language so you can make confident decisions.
I - Clarity Over Complexity
Filing your return is table stakes. The real value is in proactive planning - finding opportunities before the year is over.
II - Strategy, Not Just Compliance
Your financial life evolves. I'm not a transactional relationship - I'm in it with you through moves, milestones, and major life shifts.
III - Long-Term Partnership
"You deserve a CPA who gets excited about your life - not one who tries to talk you out of it."
